| I have both, personally I like the bore snake, but i have no problems with the otis... but a friend just bought an AR and i tried to sell him on the bore snake, his cousin says hell no and is totally for the otis, i'm not downing the otis i just like my snake, i dont like dealing with pads because i'm an idiot and can never get them perfect in the little thing they go in, and the bore snake is just too easy, his arguement is its like running a used pad back through the barrel, which seems to be a valid point but i saw a ton of positive comments about the snake on here and from the local gunshops so i was wondering which of the two you guys would choose and why, i need some more ammo to back up my arguement |
| I have switched to the BoreSnake almost exclusively for my .45-70, .338 Win Mag, and AR-15. I have one I use for my .44 Mag and .45 ACP as well. My bores are very clean with very little work involved. Great product. A little CLP and a BoreSnake will get your AR-15 bore clean in a hurry. Also, I don't buy the argument about the dirty pad. You clean your bore with CLP and run clean patches through until they show no fouling, then run another clean patch through the day after, it will be filthy. My point is that it doesn't matter in practical terms. |

Quoted: Doesn't the CLP make all your clothes smell though? How many times do you have to pull the bore snake through the bore to completely clean it? 2-3 pull is all it takes...there is alot of surface area on a bore snake. Never noticed a CLP smell to the laundry either! |
