My RRA M4 Tactical Entry LE rifle is being delivered late this coming week, and I need to get a few last cleaning supplies. I have looked on Brownell's website for one piece cleaning rods, and don't know which to buy. I know the rifle has a 16" barrel(chrome lined)with a flash suppressor. I need to know what length cleaning rod I should buy. I may end up buying a bore cleaning rod guide thingy, so I was not sure how this will affect the needed length for the rod. The length rods I have seen are 24" and 36" lengths. I think the 36" is tooo long. Any suggestions? Are there other lengths available that I am missing? How long are the rod guides? Next question pertains to the cleaning rod material itself. What kind of rod material should I get and why? I have seen Dewey has Nylon coated rods, Brass rods, and Stainless Steel Rods. I was leaning towards the nylon, but wanted a more experience opinion. THANKS! |
| I have done business with Sinclair more than 15 years without a problem that wasn't resolved in one phone call. Many members of our club are benchrest people and have done a lot with Sinclair. All are satisfied. May I ask what the problem was dealing with them. By the way Brownells is a great outfit too. Georgia Precision has guides and you can buy rods direct from Dewey if you like. You need a .22 rod for the ar and Dewey makes one the right length to allow for the guide. |

I ordered a lug recess cleaning tool and some extra cotton cleaning items from Sinclair. I placed this order online. The online reciept I printed out have all the correct info, including my name and address. My relatives (same last name) called me about a week later and stated a box came from Sinclair with my name on the box with their mailing address. They live about an hour North of me. I called Sinclair and they have my mailing address wrong, and it wasnt even my relatives address they had on file! It was close to my correct address, but was still the wrong address. Sinclair stated I am the ONLY person in my zip code they ship to and they do not have anyone on their customer list in the zip code where to box went. They also said my last name is the only name on their customer list. They had no clue how this happened and could not give me any decent reason. So I had to drive an hour North just to pick this up. Sorry, one bad experience is enough. No more buying from Sinclair from me. Brownell's all the way, plus LE discount is nice, too. |
