Don't need any tools...

Just put the ass end on something solid, pull on ring at base of handguards with one hand, and use the other hand to slip out the bases of the handguards one at a time.

It gets easier with practice...

Does anyone have an idea where to purchase "The Builders Squad Notebook" that Alpo references to build the handguard removal tool.

You can also bring up the site then go to the file at the top left corner and do a "save as" then save the whole thing to a place in your computer as an html file. then you can refer back to it at any time off line.
