I'm not sure exactly what you are asking but here is my two cents worth. If you are talking about seperating the upper from the lower, the pivot pin and the takedown pin are captive (retained by the respective detents) and when you seperate the upper from the lower by pushing the pins outward until stopped by teh detent, both pins will bemain captive to the lower. You may remove each pin completly if you wish. The takedown (rear) pin is easily removed and replaced but I would not remove the pivot (front) pin unless there is some specific purpose. The detent which retains the pivot pin is easy to loose control of and when it escapses it is often lost. I would strongly recomend safety glasses when removing or installing the pivot pin spring and detent. DanS |
