| So I broke down my brand new Bushmaster(surprisingly clean out of the box), and cleaned itwith CLP. The only part I had trouble with was was the extractor pin, I could not figure out how to get it out??? And being a newbie I didn't want to screw up my brand new gun so I left it alone and cleaned it as is. Could someone please tell me how you go about removing the extractor pin? |

If you are referring to the EXTRACTOR, and NOT the EJECTOR, then (while putting some pressure at the rear of the extractor to take tension off of the extractor pin) insert a thin nail or allen wrench and simply push it out. The extractor will then lift right off. Leave the spring and plug installed in the extractor--simply clean/lube around it. When reassembling the extractor, put the extractor in position, and put pressure at the rear of the extractor with your thumb. Insert the extractor pin by hand, and push it the rest of the way in with the thin tool you used to get it out. Be sure the pin is equal on both sides--there is no positive stop that prevents it from being pushed out the other side. |
