Doing a cheap truck build pistol and my mag catch bonds on the lower when I push the button. Does it every time with no mag and with a mag it works but still rubs.

Out of spec lower, catch lever?

Any one had this issue and how did you fix?

Arrow on pic is the binding/rubbing point!

Judging by your pic, I'm guessing possibly the lower.
Your catch appears to be riding to the forward of the receiver.

Did you try another catch?  I would try that first.

If another known catch is the same, that would lean towards the lower being slightly out of spec.

The gap at the rear does not look normal.

If it is just a bad catch, taking a small amount off the fore end with a sander or file may remedy it.

Yep, try to replace or mod the cheapest part, hence the bolt catch.

Looks like some light sanding on it to remove any burs/binding areas, some touch up with birchwoodcasey super blue, then use some light grease at the contact areas of the catch to the receiver slot and let the catch have it way with the slot to finish up any last of binding.

If you need to re-blacken the aluminum slot wear marks down the line, aluminum black will do.

To re-blacken metal.

Brownells Oxphoblue works great on steel also.

Dicropan T-4 I believe it's called now.

Thanks for the input.

The LPK is Guntec and was cheap, going to see if I can do a little file work on the catch and order another if modding does not work.

The detents that I mentioned earlier were Guntec also.

I'm pretty sure that their products are shit. I'm not buying anymore.

The EE is a good place to pick up individual parts at times.

Jse Surplus has flat rate shipping. My last order was $18 worth of odds/ends shipped for $4.

Good luck.

The catch "L" was a little out of square. A little tap on the corner to square it up and now it works great.

The kit I got was missing a couple springs, luckily I have a LGS that stocks springs. Once I get the upper I will decide if I should toss the Guntec crap and get a better trigger set.
