| Hi Folks. I have an "NcStar" carry handle rear sight that I like to use occasionally. From what I understand these are decent quality (maybe I'm misled on that). After 50 rounds or so, the thing keeps rattling off the rail and becoming very loose. I've tightened the screws as much as possible, yet I still have this happening. Does anyone have a suggestion on a remedy for this? I've heard some people recommend putting that automotive substance "lock-tight" on the bolts, but I'm reluctant to do that until I can get some expert opinions here. Thanks in advance for any advice. |

If the carry handle knobs keep loosening due the vibration when shooting, then you could try some thread locker. If using Loctite, I would suggest using the blue level #242, this is medium strength, which should work to keep things from vibrating loose, and yet soft enough to remove the locking knobs. Loctite can be found at an hardware store, Lowes, Home Depot in the paint dept by the glue. You will need to remove or back out the knob as far as it will go and apply the Loctite locker directly to the threads, then screw the knobs down tight in order for the Loctite to work, it will not work if you just put in on the outside of the knob as it will not penetrate (so use it direct on the threads).
