Hi all,

Please help me figure this out.

Post ban Bushmaster M4 clone that started with the fixed carry handle upper.  I swapped out the upper with a Henderson Defense M4 flat top and kept the original barrel and FSB.  The base is marked F 0 1 "something" 1
</a>" />

The reason I ask is because I'm not sure if the "F" needs to be cast by itself and not with the presence of other numbers.  Also because I thought BM did not use "F" dimension FSBs.

Also, When shooting high at 25M the front sight sits a little proud of the base...
</a>" />

I purchased a taller post from KNS but it looks like it would sit taller of the ears...
The rear sight is a YHM (Spikes) low profile flip up.  Not elevation adjustable.

Thank you for the help

The sight post top will be at the same height if left the same as what you have. It may just screw further down into the sight base past flush. Windham sells a taller post for about 5 dollars and shipping.

Ok, yes. My first post was in error.  The poi is still high at that distance.  I didn't want to raise the front any more...

There is nothing wrong with having the FSP sit higher up like that, or even more.  It is designed to be adjusted that way if necessary.

If it does sit excessively high, the solution is to buy the taller FSP as you mentioned.  Of course the post is going to be higher in relation to the ears.  It is taller.

Your's is not an "F marked" front sight base/gas block. It is on the left side and on it's own. Those are likely just some sort of manufacturer's markings.

If you can't get it to zero with that front sight post, get the taller one from Bushmaster or others. It's .04in taller to make up the distance. A F marked front sight base is .04in taller than a standard.
