I have a 7.5 Rainer Arms barrel with a Seekins adjustable gas block.

gas block
barrel

The barrel specs state the gas block seat is .750, as does the gas block.

Per research I've done, the gas block in the fully closed position should turn the rifle into a single shot, not cycling the bolt. Correct?

Mine cycles just fine and dandy fully closed. So did I do something wrong? I did check to make sure the gas block adjustment set screw was fully screwed in, it was hand tight.

How detrimental to the weapon on a whole is this?

Should I look at a heavier buffer (Spike's T2 currently in a carbine tube/spring) to mitigate any damage to the carrier?

Thanks for the help!

The brass screw is used to keep the gas flow screw from backing out due to recoil or other forces.

Side back screw is the intercept, while the brass from screw is intercept lock screw.

If the rifle will still run with the black side intercept screw threaded all the way in, then there is a problem with the tip of the intercept screw not completely blocking off the gas passage.

So here, loosen the front brass screw so you can turn the side black screw, thread the side screw out, and check the inside of the intercept set screw channel for debris that may be preventing the intercept screw from being threaded all the way in to block the gas passage between the gas port and the gas tube.

I have the same gas block with a 10.3 inch Daniel Defense barrel. When mine is fully closed the rifle does turn into single shot but I only had to back it off one and a half rotation to cycle the rifle properly.

Could you give specifics to the whole system including buffer weight, spring type?

Also ammo, different ammo, different results
