took 10.5 pistol to range today. first 60 rds no problem
then periodically I would pull trigger and get a double fire of 2 rounds
this double burst happened about every twenty rounds.
then the gun consistently would  cycle properly but when the trigger was  pulled it would not fire.
I would pull back on charger handle and the  unfired round would eject the,new round would then fire - when trigger pulled on
next round  again a  none fire, pulled charger handle again ,unfired round ejected ,new round went in chamber and was fired  .This issue  continued for five cycles
and I packed it up to go home. Anyone have an idea whats up with this ???
could it be hammer trigger issue or buffer issue ??
any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks Bullstone

has the FCG been messed with at all?

Best thing to do would be to replace the FCG.  Having a gun that doubles is not a good thing.

no the fcg is brand new from either PSA or Anderson. If i need a new FCG what do you recommend ?

Do you think it may be the buffer  ??

So from what I understand is that the rifle would:
1. Fire some doubles with one press of the trigger
2. It would also fire a single round, eject the empty and load in the new round with the bolt carrier assembly going all the way forward and lock into battery, but when you press the trigger it wouldn't fire as the hammer was already forward, but if you manually cycled the round out and loaded a new round that it would fire.

If this is correct, then it sounds possibly like your trigger group is not disconnecting properly.  Make sure you have the proper disconnector spring in the back top of the trigger, and make sure that it is inserted corrrectly (wide end down and narrow end up, as it is conical in shape).

THANKS SULLY : I will double check tomorrow but I am sure the spring was inserted properly
as I did it myself. But it is functioning exactly as you stated .

.
If the spring is inserted properly what should my next move be?
Should I replace the spring ?

Thanks again Bullstone

Make sure it is a disconnector spring (conical shape) and not a bolt catch spring (cylinder shape and softer in strength).  If its not a spring issue, then I would look at possibly replacing the disconnector.
