Hi guys Im new to the forum and new to ar15s. Plenty of trigger time with my Lr308 though, however Ive had no issues with the .308 ar platform rifles I own or have shot. Some people have no luck right? Anyways, came across a deal too good to pass up so I now own my first a r15. Took it to the range today to break it in and zero the irons. I am having a feed/lock issue with this rifle. Now when normal firing the rifle cycles well and has no feeding/locking issues. When I go to chamber the round with the charging handle or release the bolt on a new mag, this is where my issue occurs. The bolt comes forward and strips the round but does not fully chamber and the bolt does not collect the round. the extractor is not grabbing the round. Sometimes the round sits to high on the bolt and other times too low. I cleaned the rifle ( did not fully disassemble the bolt), no luck. Oiled the feed ramps to see if the rounds were jamming up, no luck. The bolt and extractor seem fine, Im using good ammo and good mags. I don't know if this is just a break in thing and it will eventually get better or what. I have not had any issues like this with my 308s. I am going to take apart the BCG and clean everything well and try again tomorrow. Just want to throw this out there and see if anyone else has had this issue if a good cleaning does not resolve this issue.

Delton Sierra Moe. its a 16 inch barrel mid length gas system, the carrier is a phosphated 8620 steel carrier with a carpenter 158 Bolt. The BCG is stated to be mil spec. Using Pmags with some PMC and Winchester white box ammo. Im wondering maybe the 223 with a 5.56 chambering could be the issue? Beside the pressure difference I know the shoulder is slightly different as well.
