| I have a Bushmaster A2 lower that has just been sitting for about 10 years, and I decided I was going to throw an upper and a adjustable stock on it. The bottom screw on the stock came out easy, but the top screw won't budge, and I put some serious torque on it. The screw is unlike any I have seen before, there is a small hole in the center which can be seen looking through the buffer tube. Any ideas on how to remove this screw? |
| I finally got it off. I had the perfect flat screw driver bit for my Brownells set, but the grip of the screw driver just isn't large enough for me to really get a hold of it. I took a piece of leather and wrapped it around the grip so it wouldn't get marred and put vice grip on it. I had my wife sit on the receiver, and then voila it came loose with a loud screech. The screw is slightly boogered up from my first couple of attempts with an enormous screw driver that didn't quite fit, but it's off. |
