I'm building with Spike's barrel and upper receiver and a Daniels M4 rail. First I found the barrel extension to be a little loose in the receiver which I wasn't too concerned about so I went ahead and had to torque the barrel to 55 lbs to get the gas tube to line up with the hole otherwise the torque value would be under 30 lbs. I looked at the receiver and noticed something that I hadn't noticed before. The receiver's exterior diameter was 1.200" but at the very end where it meets the barrel there was a lip which measures 1.217". Was it likely like that before or did I somehow open it up while torquing. First AR build.

If your'e referring to the little lip right before the barrel nut, then no you didn't mess up anything. As long as you got the
index pin centered in the upper you'll be fine. Oh and welcome to the site.

It's difficult to see what that part of the receiver actually looks like without taking the aluminum barrel nut back off. I believe that what you are showing is similar to what I am seeing. It appears that my receiver has a very sharp lip while your photo shows a more rounded speed bump. I thank you sir for the help and the welcome mat.
