Built my first lower this weekend, psa lower and lpk
Everything went together smoothly

Question: with the hammer in the up position(idk the correct term) should the selector switch from safe to fire? It won't right now.  This is with the lower separate from upper and with them connected.  I can charge it with the handle, selector switches.  Pull the trigger and the selector wont switch

idk if that's clear enough description lol
thanks

Rifle must be cocked before switch can be moved. Sounds normal.

If the bolt is back with a chamber flag in, this is how we store them in the armory, the hammer is cocked and the safety is on.

You can't chamber a round in a 1911 or Browning HP with the safety engaged either.

The bottom of the hammer surface is oblong, and when the hammer is upwards/uncocked, it cams the trigger slightly back (front down), and does not allow the selector to be set to safe.

This is normal.
