I have a new sr15e3 and I had a the factory stock on it and changed it out to a PRS and I have had nothing but trouble. It will fire 4-5 rounds and then it will not fire it will reset the trigger but not feed a round. I have run through the whole gun.....tubes bolt, and I changed the buffer tube 3 times. ANY IDEAS

Got to hate is when you fail to read the directions.

The PRS uses a standard length receiver extension, a standard buffer and spring, and not the carbine spring and buffer that you pulled off/out of the telescoping stock.   Furthermore, since the PRS does not use the receiver extension spacer, then you use a A-1 butt stock screw, and not the 5/8" longer A-2 butt stock screw.

It has already been done brother...........the set up as stated by magpul did not work.

Also there is now way in hell that the PRS would be able to stay a carbine length tube unless you tapped it and had one hell of a rear retaining bolt to reach from the back of the PRS stock to the back of the carbine

The telescoping receiver extension, the carbine shorter buffer, the 10.5" recoil spring, and the end plate get pulled.

New full length A-1/A-2 receiver extension gets installed to retain the buffer retaining pin, new full length buffer with 11.75" recoil spring, and the butt stock bolt that should be used in the A-1 unit that comes with the stock.   If you used a A-2 butt stock bolt, then it will be protruding into the back of the receiver extension void to prevent the buffer from coming all the way back , and will leave a tell tale indent in the center of the buffer bumper when pulled and checked.

Also, since we have a new buffer and recoil spring in play, make sure that the buffer bumper roll pin is not protruding out of the sides that will catch up on the inside of the spring, and the end of the spring coil winds do not have a bur that will scrap down the inside of the tube.

Thanks for the in put. I have the full kit as stated by magpul it includes, A-1 receiver extension gets installed to retain the buffer retaining pin, new full length buffer with 11.75" recoil spring. Im not a low knowledge AR guy. I have changed out theses stocks on some of my other ARs and never had this problem. I have used 5 diff ammos, lube, no lube.....

Double check the length of the butt stock bolt, and check the end of the buffer button to make sure that the butt stock bolt is not too long and protruding into the back of the tube, and causing your problems.

As stated, the A-1 butt stock bolt is 5/8" shorter, since it is used when you are not using the 5/8" receiver extension to install a longer A-2 stock (why the difference between the two bolts).

Also, just pull back on the charging handle, since if the bolt is correct and you don't have anything foreign in the tube that is preventing the buffer from going all the way into the tube to the end of it, then bolt should stop about 1/4" in front of the back of ejection port window edge (behind the bolt catch), without the last of the charging handle pull the last inch feeling harder than the rest of the pull (sticking/binding on the protruding bolt, or recoil spring binding out).

Sounds good I will check it out again and see the bolt is the A-1 I measured in last night. when I get home I will check it out again and see.
Thanks again

Gun ran rifle when new, and the problem is now happening after you changed the butt stock, correct? Meaning that the problem is somewhere in the the butt stock assembly/parts.

If yes, pull back on the charging handle until is all the way back, and tell me where the face of the bolt  stops against the ejection port window.

Is the face of the bolt about 1/4" to 1/8" in front of the back of the ejection port window?
On the last inch of the charging handle pull, was the spring tension constant, or did the pull get a lot harder?

Besides the butt stock, what else was changed on the rifle?

You are cleaning the rifle with just Sweets and CLP, including using a chamber brush with CLP to clean the chamber?

Hey 523,
yes I have changed the stocks. The first stock I had on her she ran fine...then I went to the FUL PRS set up and the issues started. 2-3 4-5 rds and then click nothing. I would TRP and then she would run again for a few rds. I went back to the original stock and the same thing is happening again. I have changed it with 4 different sets of buffers strings tubes and still the issues. I am getting some cases that are beat crimped by the bolt right behind the bullet almost pushing the bullets out of the case....photo will follow this evening. There doesn't seem to be and hard sticking when charging the bolt. As far as other changes there has been none. Just the mass amount or rear end swapping. I have cleaned the crap out of her and used several lubes. The only thing I can think of aside from the stock is the bolt came pin was put into the bolt assembly once by a buddy of mine that had never taken apart an ar before I was standing right there with him and he just pushed it in the bolt assembly backwards so that the ejector claw would have been on the left side of the bolt.......it was hard to pull out but that was the only thing I can ever think of that was ever out of the norm.
