I have a Magpul MOE furniture set. I have a PSA Multi lower. I noticed ther grip has two screw holes and the receiver has one. Its a loose fit. Is there anything I can do to tighten this up? Screw is in as tight as it goes. Maybe stick a washer on the other side next to the receiver?
Thanks! I know this is a stupid question. But its driving me nuts. |

So the receiver is drilled all the way through and tapped. There is no way you are bottoming out the screw. It's not a tapered hole either.
Remove your current grip (watch for the safety detent spring and follower). Thread your screw into the hole. You should be able to run it through enough that you can see it come out of the hole inside the receiver. If you can't get it to thread through, you'll need to find someone that can complete the tap or just shorten your screw (cut it or add washers). Do not place washers between the grip and receiver. That will screw up the fit completely. |

To add, don't screw the pistol grip bolt so far into the receiver that is protrudes into the bottom of the receiver cavity.
So on that note, should have a washer on the head of the bolt before it goes into the grip, and shorten the bolt if needed so it does not protrude into the bottom of the receiver cavity when correctly tightened to hold the grip firmly with the bottom of the receiver. |

The slotted pan head screw furnished with the MOE grip has a 'blob' of thread locker on it.. it is 'hard'...
and it prevents tightening the screw all the way. remove this material the best you can, even a little makes a lot of improvement.. a wire brush, anything. then you should be able to tighten it all the way. the slotted head screw should be the correct length and there was not a washer furnished for a reason.... still double check protrusion interference with trigger group.. that's just smart. |

Ok,
The screw doesn't need a washer or blue locktite... There is as stated above locking blob on the screw from magpul... There are two things I always do in that area... #1 chase the threads...junk I known to get in there durring machining and coatings... #2 I do the trigger job with a set screw... They go in hard...I doubt you could break that screw by hand... Oh, unless you have to don't remove the blob of thread lock...it's there for a reason... Bret |
