I got my new .300 blk barrel in today and finished putting my upper together.  However, I noticed that when I chambered a round it did not seem to seat all the way.  This is my first AR, and even though I have shot them before I guess I never really paid attention.  Check out the pics, is this normal?  The bolt also doesn't seem to go all the way forward.
edit for specs:  PSA upper, SOTA Arms barrel, RCA BCG

Looks normal to me, and remember that as you charge the weapon, do not ride the charging handle forward.

The reason for this is that the extractor has to snap over the case rim at lock up, and the B/C needs forward momentum to do this.   Hence the bolt face is recessed, and why the case round rim is slightly protruding back out of the chamber for the mate up on the two.

And yes, this is safe with the round not fully retained in the chamber, since the back of the case is the case webbing of the base, and does not need the chamber wall support when fired.

awesome, I was beginning to think I was going to have to scrub the hell out of the barrel extension.   I knew it needed a good cleaning, but I couldn't see a burr or anything and was afraid something was messed up.  Thanks.
