[ARCHIVED THREAD] - charging handle

charging handle hits the top of my end plate when I pull the bcg to the rear? stupid problem I hope theres an easy fix,I will try a different end plate but they seem to be the same dimensions....any ideas?

End plates are out of spec.
The top of it should be the same top of receiver line.

But saying this, you may luck out and be able to slide the back plate slightly down as you are tightening the castle nut(maybe).

If you filed or ground some metal off, would it be so much that the strength of the end plate would be compromised?

yes I could file it....look like -----,however just scared its my aero lower sorry cant seem to find out how to post pics

If it isn't flush with the receiver just buy a new one, They are only 5 bucks from Brownells.

end plate was absolutely out of spec,and so was the one that I compared it to...filed it down looks fine problem solved thanks dano!
