I just built my first ar i used a spikes lower with a palmetto armory parts kits with magpul furniture,
I test fired it sunday with an armalite 556 upper. My problem/question can the buffer tube spring
Be too strong, 2 out of ten rounds didn't feed corretly the bullet was pushed into the round.

So can a buffer spring be too powerful?

Thanks

What do you mean by the bullet being pushed into the round ? Was there a double feed, IE; two live rounds pushed into the chamber ? If so, follow this http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=113

No double feed, the actaul bullet pushed back into casing like it was pushed into a brick wall.

No expert here.... BUT It doesn't sound like a buffer spring problem. Sounds like ammunition. Are you using re-loads ? This usually happens when a round is chambered over and over again. The barrel could also have a feeding problem. What barrel brand is it ?

The upper is a factory built armalite 556

I dont believe the ammo was reloads
