| My colt m4 slide handle is so stiff and it takes two people to extend the rear stock. Any solutions? |
| Pull down on the lever on the butt stock all the way down (not just cam'd to the side) and slip the entire butt stock off the back of the receiver extension. Now reach into the inside of the butt stock with a set of needle nose pliers, hold the detent pin from spinning, and tighten the bolt on the out side cam side about 1/2 a wind so when the lever is cam'd, it pulls the detent up higher to clear the detents in the receiver extension. |

My colt m4 slide handle is so stiff and it takes two people to extend the rear stock. Any solutions? Clarification needed: do you mean that the butt stock requires major force to be extended rearward with the detent lever actuated? Or do you mean that the detent lever doesn't function easily, as Dano523's post implies? The first scenario could be a mis-matched butt-stock and buffer tube (mil-spec stock on commercial tube): the latter.....well, Dano523 usually gets it right. mully |
