| Need some help here for my brother. He has a bm M4 carbine and he says that the handguard moves in a circular motion so when he is using his bipod he has to constantly reposition the crosshair of the scope. I didn't have an answer for him why. My Spikes w/MOE furniture is rock soild. Any suggestions beside dumping the BM? |

Did he take the HG's off to see if any tabs on the front of the HG have broken off? Does he have a round, or triangle HG cap? |

Quoted: His is round. He said "there are small tits on the end of handguard". I guess they are probably not either lining up with the holes in the handguard cap or are to small to fit and hold the forward end of the handguard in place? Each HG has three tabs at the front. How many tabs does he have, how loose is the cap and how scored is the underside of the rear of the HG's, where they are held in by the teeth of the barrel nut? The HG's are there to keep your hand from being burned. If they are doing this, but they rattle, that's life. If your brother does not like this, then he can buy new HG's. The std. HG's were not meant to hold bipods w/o moving. |

His handguard cap is solid but the teeth on the front of ot guard are so small they aren't locking into the cap. Just got off the phone with him and he is going to look at some handguards at a gun center by him. Thanks for all the help and input. will advise you guys the results when issue is resolved. Thanks again.

Quoted: As long as he doesn't remove/reinstall the hand guards more than a few times, or the plastic slots will loosen up and wobble just like the stock BM handguards did.Have him take some Photos. The other option is to upgrade to a railed forarm. FF or Drop in should help. Even a MOE would work. MAHA The FF or drop-in is the better long term solution. |
