| hi all. noob here with my first AR. im not sure what the correct term is for my problem is so i will try to explain. whether fast firing or aim & squeeze, maby 1 shell out of 20 will jam into the area below the barrel,shoving the bullet back into the brass case,leaving only about 1/4" sticking out. there is no damage to the brass at all.its a used Double star. model star 15 short barrel rifel.i have cleaned & oiled it throughly,per the info i got on this site. the mag is brand new ,a double star also. i dont have another mag to try. any help explained so a AR idiot can understand would be very helpful. |

Lack of the correct solvent being used for cleaning and lubing (CLP), or the mag not recovering correctly (pull the mag apart and clean it with CLP).
In the cleaning forum, you will find which parts need to be pulled apart and clean, how to use a chamber brush with CLP to clean the chamber correctly, and even the correct solvent to use to clean/lube pretty much the entire (with the exception of the barrel bore, which you should be using a Copper solvent there instead). To add since this is a used rig, verify that the threaded section of the mag catch is flush with the face of the mag release button. |
