I am running a BCM Auto BCG new with the build. Had no issues for 400 rounds or so. At last cleaning I installed the O-ring onto the extractor spring that came with the BCG as I was told it would make it better. Back to the range and fire 1st round XM193 goes bang, next shot nothing. Check magazine is seated fully, look across and the bolt isn't fully close because there's a round jammed between the mag and the top of the barrel. Remove mag and jammed round, put same mag back in and functions flawlessly. Clean rifle again including BCG and reassemble. Next range trip goes bang, jams, eject mag and jammed round, reload, charge, bang, jam. Field strip immediately and see nothing wrong so I remove the O-ring from the extractor on the BCG, reassemble using same mag and functions flawlessly again. I don't understand. Have used different mags, shot a lot of XM193 through it. All parts assembled new at same time except for the O-ring which came with the BCG from the same company and is sold as an upgrade for my bolt.

I know I'm a noob to AR's but this isn't rocket science. I built it and am pretty sure that there are no other issues. Other than the obvious "don't use the O-ring" what else should I be looking at?

Thanks

Per Bravo Company:
The BCM Extractor Spring is so strong the Mil-Spec Crane O-Ring will probably not be needed, but it is included.

The combo of the extra power extractor spring and the o-ring can cause excessive extractor tension on some weapons, causing a malfunction.  Leave the o-ring out and move on.

The o-ring increases extractor power which then OVERpowers the ejector causing a delay in the brass clearing the weapon leading to issues like you describe.  When you start getting FTE issues replace both the extractor AND ejector springs.

Thank you both for your input. I have removed the O-ring as stated before and was wanting to know if there's anything else that i should be looking for. It is functioning flawlessly now so hopefully that was it. Thanks again. No need for further replies.
