Rifle always functions, but it just started throwing brass forward at about the 3 o'clock position. Looks like the brass is hitting the back of the ejection port instead of the shell deflector.
I checked the bolt rearward travel and it is fine. I swapped the buffer and spring to no avail. So what am I missing? |

So what am I missing? Specs on the AR and ammo. Also the ejection chart is for an M-4 firing M-855 ammo. If you are not using either, then do not expect the same outcome. |

For the most part, overgassing is a myth. Check ejector spring tension or replace it outright. Are you sure your brass is hitting the rear of the port?
Unless there are other signs of a problem, then there is no problem with where your rifle is ejecting. The only problem I could imagine would be weak ejection is the case is hitting the rear of the ejection port. Not a gas or buffer problem. |

Didn't you post about having stove pipe issues a while back? According to Mike Pannone this is a sign of weak extractor and ejector springs. Replace both OR if you only replaced the extractor spring, now replace the ejector spring. Yes I did. Different rifle. I will post back after replacing the springs. |

Yup, new ejector spring. Do you mean to say that a new ejector spring corrected the ejection problem? And if so, what spring did you use? GSM Yes. Just a standard ejector spring from Brownells. They were advertised as the manufacturer as well. Think it was like $5 for a 3 pack. |
