My brother purchased a DPMS range ar15 a little over 3 yrs ago and recently purchase another a r15 from a buddy of his. SInce he has no plans to ever use the range rifle again, I took it and replaced the upper receiver, while using the same barrel and railed gas block. I've made the rookie mistake of trying to use a Magpul MBUS front sight on it, not noticing that gas block sits lower that the rail. Tried to use an a2 A-post front sight but it don't fit and my barrel doesn't have pin slots notched in.
Im not sure what sight to use... Any body knows how to fix this issue? |

I would get rid of the railed GB, MBUS and used FSB (requires gunsmith to pin)
Easiest fix is to get one of these... YHM Flip Up Front Sight There is a straight wing and an HK style (curved) wing available. There are also sexier (and more expensive) flip-ups. Folding Front Sight Bases |
