| Yesterday, I tried my first reload with my AR. I should have tried to manually insert the cartridge first, but I didn't. I put the cartridge in the magazine and pulled the charging handle back and released it. Everything felt fine, but when I pulled the trigger, nothing happened. When I looked at it, it appeared that the bolt did not close completely. I tried to pull the charging handle back but it will not move. I am afraid to do anything now without some good advice. Does anyone know how to clear this jam? |
| This too happened to me a couple of years back. I thought I had my dies set correctly. My problem was the resizing die needed about 1 turn more down to resize the neck correctly and bump the shoulder back to spec. After that I didn't have a problem in any of my AR's |

Do this. Believe me, it won't hurt the rifle. Many of my first reloads were bad, in the sense that the shoulders were bulged and I didn't even see it. Once the dies are set up right, this problem will go away. |
