Hey all,
I have a quad rail that came with my DPMS 20" .223 with a barrel nut instead of the delta ring. Does anyone know if their quad rails are separate from the barrel nut? I was reading on another forum someone mentioning that some 'stock' rails have the barrel nut as part of it. Others said the company probably but some loctite and the quad rail is just very tight on the barrel nut. I just want to make sure before I put any more force on the rail to break it from the barrel nut. Thanks in advance, Mike |

Thanks for the reply...I got an email from you guys telling me to send the upper back...I have an issue with quad rail being out of spec...it's the standard 12" that came with the rifle. I purchased a Magpul AFG2 grip but couldn't install it on the rail..the rail is too thick (from the rail outward). I was able to install the AFG2 grip on my Colt AR15 that has a UTG quad rail without a problem. I compared the two quadrails and sure enough, the one on the DPMS rifle is very thick.
I was trying to remove the quad rail so I can just send that in the mail instead of the whole upper....to reduce the weight. ( I have a bull barrel) I know how to deal with a delta ring with no problem but this is my first rifle with a barrel nut. I just wanted to make sure I would be able to turn (lefty loosey) the quad rail from the barrel nut. Thanks again, Mike |
