any ideas of how to remove a thread adapter from a barrel without damaging it ???

Barrel vise blocked up, then a band wrench.

If the adapter does not want to spin off, then heat the adapter up to around 600* with the flame moving ( to break down the loctite bond,and will smell a sweet smell as the bond breaks down and try again).
