Hello to all. This is my first post although I have visited here several times. Great site.
Here's my problem. I have an AimPoint M4 Red Dote sight. I later purchased a 3x magnifier to help with my long range shooting. I wear glasses and for the first several months or so everything was great, then I switched to contact lenses. I the blink of an eye (no pun intended) my 3x magnifier became a $500 paperweight. With my contacts in the image is so blurred I can hardly see the target at 100 yards let alone center of mass. I contacted AimPoint and was told there is no fix for this and I must "train" my eye. It should only take a few months if I shoot on a regular basis. If I sent my 61 year old eye to ACT it would not help this situation. Has anybody else had this type of issue? |
| I'd give it some time. It took several times out shooting and several hundred rounds with my Eotech and magnifier setup before I was seeing the reticle clearly and shooting consistantly with it. After the first time out with it, I too thought I had a really cool looking, very expensive paperweight. If you're capable, try viewing w/ both eyes open, this seemed to help me and remember focus through the reticle to the target, not on the reticle. |

I celled Aimpoint again thinking Tech support might have another solution.
They said it was Ocular Distortion and I would have to just retrain my eye. Lots of dry fire with both eyes open. Focus on the target and not the red dot. Guess I'll have to teach part of this old dog a new trick. Thanks for the suggestions. Time will tell. S. |

Nope! No focus ring. ![]() The primary arms magnifier I have behind my eotech has a focus ring. I'm not sure if eotech's magnifier has one though. However, if I simply don't put on my glasses, the reticule on the eotech turns into a big red blob, magnifier or not. |
