I have a buddy with the older front screw instead of a takedown pin.
He needs to fix it, so is this what he needs? Bushing (Midway) Replacement Pin (Midway) The Bushing - I am guessing he needs 2 of these - one for each side of the lower. The fence he has isn't drillable or I'd just get him hooked up with ADCO, drill and set up like a standard AR lower. Thanks in advance. |

So he does have a slabside lower, akin to the 601?

Yes, one only if the new upper is going to be a standard mil spec hole size upper.
As for the old take down pin, it will work fine unless he want to go to the newer external type detent ball type pin so no screwdriver is needed to remove the upper from the lower. |

Yeah - that's what he wants to be able to do - just use a pin like the rest of the AR world and be able to put any old upper on that Colt lower. Thanks - that's what I thought, but where better to check than AR15 |
