Does all fired  .223 and 5.56 brass get slightly enlarged after firing at about 1/8 of an inch below the extractor groove?  I assume this is a result of the brass expanding against the chamber.

The reason I am asking is that the fired brass I have (Q3131A1 winchester) has a shiny ring in this area.  Brass from other rifles (not Q3131 A1) has the enlarged brass area but it is not shiny in color.   I have to look at the brass pretty closely to see this.

All brass expands in the chamber when fired then it contracts slightly.  Not unusual to have a slight ring towards the bottom of the case.  Feel free to reload that brass.
