hi, im new here and just bought my first ar 15 feb 24th. i was inspecting the ar and found that were the upper and lower receivers come together theres play,were i can twist the upper back and forth a little. is this normal?

This is perfectly normal. Some AR's fit tighter than others. All of my issue weapons have been pretty loose. If it bothers you and you want to tighten it up you can throw an orange earplug under the rear lug and squish it in place, or buy an accuwedge.
