Normal on a new rig, and use use something that will peen as the punch so you don't mar the surface of the pin (read golf tee with the end squared works well if you don't have a plastic punch tool).

Just keep the pins/mating parts lubed, and in time they while mate to the point that a punch is no longer needed.

I had the same problem with both pins on my S&W M&P 15.  Had to hammer them out with a wooden dowel.  They have since loosened up to where I can remove them with my fingers.  Give them some time.

I put a little dab of moly-slide into the groove and detents during assembly.
Slicker than snot.

Yep, my new Stag Model 1 carbine is that tight as well, but the pins on my new LMT defender can be pushed out with the fingers.
