You help is appreciated.

M4 float tube with the rails DD barrel 1/7 twist, YHM flip front and I have two rear sights I've tried both YHM as well as the 1/2 inch riser to play with. Without the riser it's 9" low with the riser it's 9" high. Sure would like to get this sighted in but but brainfried trying different setups. Just shooting 25 yards at present till I can get this figured out.

Thank you for the help.

If I understand correctly and without using my fingers, would 1/2" elevation change in sights @ 25yds = 9 inches?
I would stick with either / or

Is the front sight mounted on the hand guard rail or on the gas block, and depending on the two (read different heights), are you sure that you have the correct front sight model for that mount style?

It's the gas block and flip sight model so it's on the barrel. The upper is from Bravo Co. with the lettering in the rails. This has me stumped. Could the barrel be tilted on the upper when torqued down to make this kind of difference. I would prefer not to use the riser at all. Will be working on it today. Hope I can get it straight because it's a nice setup.

Thanks

Which front sight is it, exactly?  Did it come with the rifle, or did you install it yourself?  Some flip-ups are made to go on a rail the same height as the rail on a flattop upper... not on a gas block.  Mounting such a sight to the gas block, which is lower, would indeed make you shoot high...

Got it done. Had to true up the upper, it evidently was tilting the barrel. This brought it close with the boresighter. Took the front sight post out and took it down on the band sander. Reblued the tip.

Didn't have to use the 1/2 riser at all. Looks and shoots good. Now to co-witness the EOTech with the irons since they are zeroed.
