Just finished putting together my first lower. First of all, thank you to everyone who helped put together the instructions available here.  Simply outstanding.  The video was a huge help.

I've been lurking on the board for a while, but this is my first post.  I've been around firearms my entire life, but I'm new to the AR platform.  I consider myself to be reasonably mechanically inclined.  For those who care to know about such things, I take firearm safety very seriously.  I habitually check the chamber of any firearm prior to manipulating it in any way. Safe-handling procedures are observed EVERY TIME...no exceptions, no excuses. At no time has a live round been anywhere in the vicinity of this rifle thus far.

RRA lower with RRA LPK.  6-position collapsable stock from the EE.

No surprises with assembling the lower....everything seemed to go as expected (including launching the pivot pin detent across the room ). Everything about the lower function tests fine.

Mated the lower to a new Stag 2H upper.

Now to the problems / questions....

When I first mated the Stag upper to the lower, the fit was TIGHT.  I could get it together, but it took a little convincing.  I had read to expect a tight fit in a new build, especially with the RRA lower, so that was not unexpected and it seems to be working itself out.  However, when I pull the charging handle all the way back, the BCG will hang in the most rearward position.  If I give a tap to the buttstock or magwell, or sometimes even if I just give a little shake to the rifle, the BCG will release and come forward as expected.  It only happens with a full pull of the charging handle.  CLP seems to help, but it didn't make it go away.

I'm guessing that the BCG is dragging on the hammer due to the newness of the parts, and that some rounds downrange will smooth everything out, but I wanted to run it by others to see if any red-flags went up.   I was also considering using a little jeweler's rouge on the hammer and the bottom of the carrier to try to polish things up a bit.

Thoughts from the group?

Hammer drag or even hammer wedging may be going on.

Do make sure that the end of the receiver extension is retaining the buffer retainer in the channel.

Also, take a good look at the roll pin on the buffer, and even the end of buffer spring winds for burs that may be protruding and grabbing either the spring in the case of the buffer pin, or the side of the tube in regards to the tube.

Also, did you remember to pre CLP lube all the parts before the where installed?
