I just got back from the range, put about 500 rounds through my new AR (Colt 6920) and was having issues.
Two friends and myself were shooting, everytime one of them would shoot he would get off 2-3 rounds and it would lock up, the bolt would get stuck forward. The rifle would have to be taken apart and the bolt pried back. This happned 5+ times. When the other guy shot it did it once, it never did it when I shot. What could this be? Also, I have a new aimpoint ML3 and i could not get it sighted in for the life of me! I tried using a laser boresighter and could not get the red dots to match, it was almost like i was completely unscrewing the adjustment screws to get it even close. Then when i shot it was no where near close lol. Suggestions? Yes the rifle was cleaned and lubed, it had only about 300 rounds through it before today. |

Ammo being used this time, since you write like it seems like this did not happen with the first time out shooting?
Also, when things did start going south, did you re-clean the rig (barrel/chamber), or just tried to verge on with the fouled rifle. Also, during this 500 round count, was the upper bearing area's at least relubed with CLP some where around the half way point? Either the aimpoint is defective, or the mounts that you are using. Since you could not even get close to a zero, best guess is the mounts are not aligning correctly from the start. |

The ammo being used were reloads from a local shop, same ones I used the first time I shot and it didn't do this. I pretty much pressed on since it started at the 2nd-3rd magazine. |

You bought reloads?
Who loaded them? Were they labled? |

Use factory loaded ammo and stay away from reload crap.
Also, if you are trying to use optics prior to learning how to use the issued iron carry handle you are not doing any favors to yourself. There is no reason that at 25 yds a Aimpoint could not be zeroed unless you have not put it together right. |

There is NOTHING wrong with shooting reloads that you loaded yourself if you know what you're doing. |

My reloads . It ain't rocket science , you just have to be able to follow instructions . And have the tiniest bit of mechanical aptitude . God bless Wyr |
