Hey guys, this is my first post. I'm a huge noob but a fan of AR's. I have been lurking here for awhile before I bought my Stag. It seems that there is some great info here and questions get answered pretty fast. Anyway here is my problem.

I bought a new Hogue pistol grip because the original plastic grip does'nt feel good to me. Anyway, I unscrewed the original grip and noticed a thin spring laying underneath my gun. I said that's not good. Then I proceded to open up the upper half and all of a sudden a small pin came out. I said oh shi$!!,  I fuc&*d this up. I never put together a lower parts kit on before so I have no idea what goes where.

If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks guys!!

edit: Also my safety/fire switch is loose as a goose. Thanks again!!

There is a spring and pin that holds the selector switch in place. So be sure to put the pin inside the receiver where the grips goes, and put the spring inside the grip when you are putting it back together.

Thanks, Ok I looked at my grip and found where the spring is suppose to be held. Can you be more specific on where the pin actually goes? Thanks again!

If you have the spring in the grip, look how the grip fits on the lower.  Where the spring sticks out of the grip, it will line up with a hole in the lower.  The detent pin goes in the hole.  The grip then goes on, and you need to make sure the spring follows the detent pin into the same hole, and doesn't get kinked when you push the grip on.

Just be careful when you're moving things around to fit 'em together that you don't dump the pin out of the hole without realizing it.  They're a bear to find in the carpet.
