I swear when I was swapping out grips, when I removed the stock grip on my Colt 6920 there was about an inch long spring in the hole??? What that for? Thanks.

Not the hole on the side where the safety detent and spring are, but actually in the hole where you screw the grip down??? Sorry if thats what you meant. The safety detent screw I have, this is longer than that. Weird.

There are some trigger tuning devices that went with a grip screw that was hollow / with spring for fine tuning your trigger .Older match type of adj. . Or maybe there was a spare spring set in there and that one was just stuck .
