Got a new upper the other day, went to sight it and had to make a windage adjustment for 12 clicks right at 25 meters.

Ok long story short, I thought I had a slightly canted front sight base.  I did an experiment with an aimpoint T-1 and a KAC600m rear sight and had an interesting observation.

Rear BUIS centered, mounted behind the T-1 has the T-1 dot to the right of the front sight post in the sight picture.

Now if I turn the BUIS around, now the T-1 dot lines up with the front sight.

I have done this with 2 different KAC600m BUIS, so its not the BUIS.

So now I am thinking that the FSB isn't crooked, but the rail on my upper may not be straight & true.

Anyone have any comments or observations?

If it's a rail mounted front sight, your rail is likely canted.
