I just noticed that the ejection port cover on my new CMMG upper has a loose component.  The small rectangular piece that the detent is part of is loose from the rest of the cover.  It still functions but seems potentially problematic.

Is there a fix for this or should I just replace this $5 assembly?

Thanks.

Only fix is to replace it.

It seems like you've been the first one to answer most of my questions.  I'll buy from you from now on.

When replacing dust covers, I find it is a good idea to have extra snap rings on hand for the port door hinge.  They are extremely small and fragile, removing them often destroys them.  They're cheap, so buy 2 or 3 when you order the cover.
