I have a new build.  It is a superior lower and a Blackstone upper.  This is my second build and I have run into problems.  I load mag with good ammo(USA AND HANSEN)  and they get stuck after they fire.  The noise is not right so I do not think they were seating properly when fired. They get stuck in the chamber and so does the bolt.  When I first started trying the bolt would close somewhat but when I pulled the trigger it clicked.  Upon examining the brass it was a faint dent where the pin had engaged but not enough to fire.   I notived that I had a blown case that was about a 1/4" above the base.   Could this be head spacing problems.  Seeing as I am using good ammo that cant be it.   Since the ammo is not seating could it be mag.  I lubed the bolt alot before I began, but it could not be enough.

I'LL stop now.  Any help would be appreciated.

Could any lube be getting onto your ammo?
That would change the chamber into a 'sticky' place and cause poor extraction/chambering...

We all love lube but too much will F-your rifle up!

Just going to throw it out there.  I had a similar problem with ejection and ftf when my buffer retainer popped out dued to a loose buffer tube nut.  I was just wondering if you have taken down the gun to make sure all the internals are functioning properly.

I cleaned it and still had problem.   It did the same thing.  I used remington oil and am almost sure that was not what it was.

Sounds more like the chamber is out of spec.

I assembled it based on this sites specs.  I have never been able to cycle a clip though it.  II could have missed something but the last one I built shot like a dream.  The Buffer tube seems to be tight but I will take apart to recheck.
Thanks

Would that be the same thing as the headspacing.  I am thinking I need to send it back to blackstone to fix.

This

Sounds like the chamber is not deep enough for the round. I would contact the OEM of the upper.

For future reference use the quote button when replying to a specific post.  It helps the thread flow easier.  You will also get flamed for using "clip" when you mean "magazine".  Just say'n.

Thanks for the tip.  I deserve the flaming.  I have made that mistake more than once but really know better.   I shot IPSC for 4 years.

When you say "Blackstone" upper, did you really mean "Blackthorne".  If that's the case then that's more than likely your problem. They tend to suck at anything they build.  They've changed their company name a few times because tehy continue to gain a reputation quickly for making crap.  If you had a case rupture above the case head then the chamber dimensions and headspacing are probably off and the rifle is not safe to shoot.

You can contact them and see if they'll fix it or replace it since it is a safety issue and they could get sued for selling an improperly headspaced rifle that is just waiting to KB on you.

Good luck though as Blackthorne only warranties their products for 72 or 96 hours (Something crazy like that).

I hope you get it worked out.
