This one was a first for me.

A friend asked me to look at his Rock River Arms patrol rifle because it wasnt going into battery. I assumed he had a primer stuck in the locking lugs or something. Nope. The opening of the gas key is out of round and wont slip over the nipple of the gas tube. He says he cant remember dropping the bolt carrier but that seems like the only thing that could cause it. His rifle will need the gas key replaced to get back in service.

If the gas key isn't badly damaged you can try to ream out the opening a small amount. I dont know how are the gas tube goes into the key, but it might work.
