My...err...another guy's rifle doubled twice at the carbine match today. After pulling the FCG out I see peening on the disco hook and the top of the body where the hammer tip hits. See pics below. In the pic with 2 discos, the bad one is on the left. Trigger and hammer are good. My question is what is causing the disco problems? Cheap pot metal disco? Hammer beating it up because of a timing issue? FCG has at least 1500 rounds though it, maybe 2K.
Bad disco passes a manual function check.

The peened edges of the disconector are dragging on the trigger slightly slowing it down enough to miss catching the hammer when firing.
Measure the height of the "tail" of your disconector (where the hammer hits) and you will find it is taller than a good part. OR your hammer is out of spec and slamming the rear of the disco not matter what.

Easy fix is swap out the disco for a fresh part.

The disconnector in question appears to be a casting. Maybe it is from a non GI style fcg?
