I have a brand new Stag arms lower that was factory assembled that has a magazine catch that seems to stick if the magazine catch button is pushed to far in. It hangs up on the edge of the receiver.

Is this usually the sign of a bad lower, bad lower parts kit or something else?

CLP the hell out of it and report back.

If lube isn't the problem might be some burrs on either the catch or the lower.

Pics??

ETA:  is the catch actually going outside the lower on the left side?  Might just need a little adjusting to keep it from "bottoming out" of the lower.  See the first post here for how to properly assemble the mag catch.

No burrs of any kind. It is currently dry but my factory assembled Bushmaster lower never did this.

Sorry no digital camera.

Unscrew the button and flip the spring around or rotate it slightly. There is nothing wrong with it, the spring is just binding and pushing the release off center.  I have had this happen a couple of time and messing with the spring solves it every time.

I came across the same thing a few days ago, also on a Stag.  It was remedied by swapping out the mag catch.

I did this and it works well.

Thanks
