So I have a new complete Larue upper and it comes with a nice bolt, which unfortunately does not agree with that stupid block found on my Match Target lower. Is there any reason why I shouldn't file/dremel that block down to where it is flush with the top of the receiver and no longer in the way? I can't come up with any negatives, but figured it would be good to ask anyway. Actually, one negative is that the tactical armadillo bottle opener has already been used a few times, and I have a very strict rule about dremelling under the influence. Would have to wait until tomorrow. Thanks! |
Pin is blind installed (read only a hole on one side of the receiver). You have to cut down the side of the block, then push the pin out once the block had been completely removed. When it's all said and done, this leaves a hole in the non- ejection side of the receiver, and short of epoxy or welding the hole shut, it will always be there, hence here is where the resale value of the receiver drops in value. Since you can pick up a new receiver for around $125 total, my advice would be to sell the Colt rifle to someone that is not looking to mod it and will be happy with a Colt C carrier, and build up a new lower to go with the new upper (you will have extra money left over when it's all said and done). |
