| will dings are scratches at the end of the barrel cause any problems |

Regarding the muzzle, Imperfections at the end of the rifling will cause flyers/direct enlarged groups since this is last part of the barrel that is going to make contact with the bullet directly as it leaves the barrel (read inconsistencies of bullet exit contact/path point). Now regarding the muzzle as you move away from the rifling edge, and into the crown it's self, here imperfections such as dings, deep pitting, or just excess fouling play in accuracy degradation, since as the bullet it being fired, the barrel working pressure/gases escape around/in front of the bullet as it leaves the barrel. If the flow is not stable/uniform, then is will either directionally push the bullet (off the bore line), or increase the bullet wobble, requiring the bullet even long flight time until it sleeps. Note: When a bullet is fired out of a barrel, it is not in a perfect spiral. How much pressure that escapes around/overtakes the bullet at exit, how the bullet embedded into the rifling, and even the balance of the projectile it’s self, means that as the bullet leaves the barrel, it will have a wobble to it. In a given time/distance down range, the spinning bullet will find it’s center between it’s tip/base, and will true spiral (when it sleeps) |
