My rifle doesn't jam, but when i shoot an entire magazine empty, the bolt stays forward and does not stay back inside the buffer tube like it is supposed to do. Sometimes it does, but more often than not, it stays forward. What is going on? Is my bolt carrier maybe wearing down where the pin is supposed to catch it?

I would bet the problem has nothing to do with the BC, but the bolt catch, or mag related problem.

It can be the bolt catch itself, sometimes they will be to tight on the roll pin that secures them to the lower.

It could also be the magazines followers are not pressing against the bolt catch, use GI mags with good followers.

Possibly very dirty bolt catch that is stuck/sticky and needs to be cleaned/oiled.

Does the bolt stay back when you hand cycle it on an empty mag, hence the catch rises up via the mag follower and catches the bolt face, and not just the front of the carrier?

Did you assemble the stock/buffer yourself?

When I put a collapsible on I had the same problem.  It wouldn't lock during fire but would when manually cycled.  I found that backing off the buffer tube one turn worked;  seems that with the tube 1 turn "in" too far the extra spring compression was just enough to keep the bolt from travelling rearward enough to engage the bolt catch, but did not cause any other functional problems.

This didn't keep the bolt back:

This did:

And some here said it shouldn't matter but it did.  YMMV.
