i recently installed a free float tube on one of my ar's and after putting the front sight back on i noticed it wiggled just a little.
Not enough to affect accuracy at all and its a dissipator so it doesnt function as gas block.

i took it back off and didn't see anythind wrong with it.

i have tried pounding the pins in farther, this stops the wiggle for a while then it come back.

What did i do wrong and is there a simple way to fix it?

thnx for any input

If the front sight base (not front pin) is moving on the barrel, then chances are you either punched the taper pins out large side through the small side and have enlarged not only both holes, but the barrel channel as well.

With any luck, you did punch the taper pins out the correct way (small side inwards), and a new set of taper pins will solve the problem.

As for it you did punch the taper pins out incorrectly, then you will need to search for someone that is selling over sized taper pins to replace the factory units.
