Check to make sure that you installed the disco spring large coil down into the back slot of the trigger, and is still in good working order. Also take a close look at the sears to make sure that they are not chipped or worn. If the FCG is still in good working order, you will need to check to see what the free gap is between the disco sear, and the hammer disco sear with the trigger at rest. To do this, leave the trigger alone, and lower the hammer back until you get the disco/ secondary hammer sear as close as possible. The ideal free gap will be in the .001-.003 range, and if you find the free gap larger than this, you may have to retime the disco to close the free gap. Note: when the free gap is too large, the disco will release the hammer too soon during FCG reset, and the trigger primary sear is not in the correct to catch the hammer primary sear on release. By retiming the disco, the hammer is retained longer during the trigger release, and allows the trigger sear to get into the correct position to retain the hammer upon disco release. Also, with the later hammer release, it prevents you from unintentionally bump firing the rifle. |
