Ok guys heres one that I need help on. DPMS 20in BBL, SS free float upper. Put in any loaded mag. pull the charging handle and let it go. Pull the trigger and fire every round with no problems. Chamber a round and don't fire it, I have to beat the charging handle back to eject the round. The gun is very hard to cycle by hand. If their is no round in the chamber it pulls back fine, even with an empty mag. I have tried different mags and different ammo. Does not matter how many rounds in a mag it still happens. Replaced the bolt, carrier, and charging handle.still hard to cycle. I even tried a different lower with a third bolt, carrier and handle and it's still the same. I bought this upper assimbled. HELP I am lost. |

What ammo, If reloads, then you may over crimped the bullet, and budged the shoulders (round out of spec), or may not have the case holder making contact with the sizer under sizing pressure/tension, and the cases are not full sized. With factory ammo, and just the upper (no B/C), drop a round into the "cleaned chamber" (use a chamber brush and get the chamber clean first), use a wood dowel and lightly tap the back of the case a few times to seat the live round into the chamber, then turn the muzzle skyward. The loaded round should free drop out of the chamber. If the seated loaded factory round will not drop out of the clean chamber, then you need to get DMPS on the phone since there is a problem with the chamber dimensions. P.S. Chances are the barrel is 5.56 Nato, since I don't think they even offer a 223 chamber, even if marked 223. |
